06/03/2020 Letter to Parishioners

Updated: Jun 4, 2020

Wednesday, June 3, 2020

Greetings Parishioner,

As you know from the letter that was mailed a few weeks ago, the Diocese of Belleville has sent guidelines for the reopening of church. A committee has been established (Deanna Erwin, Christopher & Rachel Hopfinger, Andrea Short, Richard & Kathy Wuebbels, and Father Ptak) and they have completed and read all training materials. They had their first meeting Tuesday, June 2, to plan and ready our Church for Phase 1 (allows for parishes to reopen for Baptism, Reconciliation, Weddings and Funerals with a limit of 10 attendees excluding ministers).

Since their meeting, Diocese of Belleville has now released information today, that parishes may begin the celebration of the Eucharist this weekend, June 6-7, with limitations (see pamphlet below). Our Parish is not ready for this yet. We are in need of more volunteers and time to prepare Church, so everyone can safely attend. We do have a schedule for Reconciliation, Adoration, and Masses to begin. This all depends if we have enough people to volunteer to be greet/usher, set-up and cleaning. We are thinking we need 10 volunteers to cover each event. The lack of volunteers, will delay the reopening of our Parish. If you are high school age (parent permission) thru 65 without any health conditions and is willing and able to volunteer, please contact the office.

† Reconciliation - Friday, June 12 from 9:00 -10:00 a.m. and 6:00 - 7:00 p.m.

† Adoration - Friday, June 19 from 9:00-10:00 a.m.

† Mass - Saturday, June 27 at 5:00 p.m. and Sunday, June 28 at 8:30 a.m.

It is important to know that you MUST call, 618-648-2490, to reserve a time slot. You can only attend, if you have a time. If you leave a message, please leave your name and number and the office will get back with you.

For more updates visit our Parish website or contact the office.

God Bless,

Father Slawomir Ptak & Reopening Committee
