DIOCESE MASK UPDATE 2/8/22
As our schools move to a mask-optional stance, at least provisionally pending further legal developments, it is worth clarifying that this change applies only to schools. The Diocese of Belleville continues to require masking at Mass (including school Masses). Bishop McGovern asks for this precaution as an act of kindness and care toward our elderly and vulnerable, for the sake of our health care workers and facilities, and so that our clergy may best continue their ministry. We all look forward to the day when these precautions will no longer be deemed necessary.
