OFFICE OF WORSHIP BULLETIN SHORTS FOR SUNDAY PRAYER-SHAPING LIFE AND BELIEF

Fifteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time – July 10

Deuteronomy 30:10-14 ~ Psalm 69:14, 17, 30-31, 33-34, 36-37

Colossians 1:15-20 ~ Luke 10:25-37

About Doing Likewise. Question 1: What must I do to inherit eternal life? Question 2: What is written in the law? Answer 1: Love God, love neighbor, love self. Question 3: Who is my neighbor, then? Answer 2: The one who shows mercy (In this story, it is not the one who needs mercy – though likely a neighbor, too.). Point: Go and do the same!

† Who is a “neighbor” beyond my acquaintances, my tribe?

† What mercy work do I see being done?

† What will I likewise go and do?

RESPECT LIFE CORNER

The creation of a Christian family is not a function of biology. It is grounded in the belief that God creates each of us in His image and likeness, to be fully human and to share in God’s life. May the adoption of children be grounded in faith, love, sacrifice, and covenant. www.usccb.org/committees/pro-lifeactivities/celebrating-good-message-adoption
